How to: Change name (Device User ID) on Basler USB Cameras

• Open Pylon Viewer.

         

• Note which camera you want to rename. If they don’t have a user-defined name already, they will be sorted by their serial number.

• Double click on the camera which you want to rename.

• Expand the options for that specific camera by pressing that small arrow (>) on the right side of its name. Camera name > Device Control > Device User ID. Double click and choose which number you want the camera to have. Hit "Enter" on the keyboard.

• Scroll down (if needed) and click "Execute" by Device Reset to power cycle the camera. After a few seconds the camera will appear in the list again but with the new name (Device User ID).
